How does a Tasso device work?
The Tasso Button sticks to the skin with a light adhesive. When the button is pressed, a vacuum forms and a lancet pricks the surface of the skin. The vacuum draws blood out of the capillaries and into a compatible container attached to the bottom of the Tasso Button.

Is this a needle-free blood collection system?
Some people refer to Tasso Devices as a needle-free system since it does not use a hollow venipuncture needle to enter a vein.

How many times can each Tasso device be used?
Each device is used one time to collect a sample and is then discarded.

Does it hurt to collect blood with the Tasso device?
Participants in clinical studies have reported lower levels of pain with the Tasso device compared to collecting blood with a finger stick or standard venipuncture procedure.

Does someone need to be trained to collect blood with a Tasso device?
Tasso’s Instructions for Use and packaging are usable by people without any medical training or knowledge. The product has undergone extensive usability testing with naive participants who received no specific training.

Are blood samples shippable?
Dried blood samples are not considered biohazards and can be shipped without special packaging requirements.

Tasso liquid sample packaging has been designed to meet Exempt Human Specimen requirements. Customers can add UN3373 labelling and meet the UN3373 requirements.

Shipping over some international borders may require specific authorization.

How are kits shipped?
In the United States the sampling kits can be shipped via standard first class United States Postal Service (USPS) service, or courier service.

Is the same box used for both outbound and return shipping?
If outbound shipping is desired the pre-addressed kit with a return label can be placed in a standard mail bubble shipper envelope for outbound delivery.
